Introducing the philanthropic side of Mission Accomplished....
def: Philanthropy - private initiatives for the public good
When I set up my business seven years ago, one of the underlying drivers was that I loved helping people and felt good about making a difference. It was not all about making money for me.
I have used my organisational skills and ideas over the years to help with a variety of projects which have benefitted others – production of an ‘Under Fives’ guide in Lichfield, volunteering in local schools, including work as a Governor, and I am a volunteer driver for the Voluntary Car Scheme in Lichfield. I am currently involved with business mentoring through Young Enterprise, and working with the Lichfield Arts Association to look at ways of providing more music opportunities for young people.

When it comes to helping other businesses, I go in with an understanding of what it is like to set up and run something of your own. Most people don’t have the funds to pay out for support so they end up trying to do everything themselves. This can result in systems that do not work or are not kept up with (for example, filing, inputting contacts onto Outlook, updating your accounts etc). One way around having to pay for help is to do a skill or product swap. Both parties get something out of it then - I have done this on many occasions.
If you are a charity after help with a project but cannot afford to pay someone (or can only pay a small amount), then get in touch to see how I can support you. I have contact with the Lichfield & District Community and Voluntary Sector Support so am aware of local services on offer, as well as a wide network of local business people.
If you are a business person wanting to support a charity but do not have the time yourself, then I am happy to act as a link on your behalf if that is of benefit to the charity. Please do get in touch if you think I can help.
